Upload images in Flickr using python code

27 Mar

  • Create a flickr account, and try upload some images, to make sure the account works fine.
  • Install Python FlickrAPI:
    • If you have not installed setup_tools for python, install it: Download the setup package and double click setuptools-0.6c11.win32-py2.7.exe to install.
    • open a command window, type “easy_install flickrapi”, this will install the flickrapi Python interface to your computer.
  • In your favorite Python environment, type below code:

import flickrapi
flickr = flickrapi.FlickrAPI(api_key, api_secret)
(token, frob) = flickr.get_token_part_one(perms=’write’)
if not token:
    raw_input(“Press ENTER after you authorized this program”)
flickr.get_token_part_two((token, frob))

This will authenticate you to access your flicker account.

  • Now try upload a local image:
  • Now after a while, the image will be uploaded to your flickr space.
