Installing .Net Framework 3.5 in Windows 8

23 May

Windows 8 is not shipped with .Net Framework 2.0 and 3.5, and it is almost unavoidable that you need to install them after a fresh installation of windows 8.

There are some workarounds to get this done, but it seemed that these don’t work on 64 bit windows 8.

Downloading .Net 3.5 online takes quite some time, and may fail from time to time. I found that installing Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows 7 and .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 is a good solution, for which you can download it first and then install it from offline installation packages, which is very fast.
